Mn-doped ZnS nanoparticles as efficient low-voltage cathodoluminescent phosphors
We have synthesized nanoparticles of ZnS doped with Mn for potential use as cathodoluminescent phosphors in field-emission displays ~FEDs!. We show that the cathodoluminescent efficiency of particles <100 nm in diameter is within 40% of that of a commercial ~micron-sized! phosphor when the electron-beam energy ranges between 500 and 3500 eV. The nanoparticles exhibit less current saturation tha...
متن کاملStrongly luminescent InP/ZnS core-shell nanoparticles.
The wide-bandgap semiconducting material, zinc sulfide, has been coated on indium phosphide nanoclusters to a 1-2-Å thickness. The resulting InP-ZnS core-shell particle (as shown in the TEM image; scale 1 cm=5 nm) exhibits bright luminescence at room temperature with quantum efficiencies as high as 23 %.
متن کاملFerromagnetic ordering in Mn-doped ZnO nanoparticles
Zn1 - x Mn x O nanoparticles have been synthesized by hydrothermal technique. The doping concentration of Mn can reach up to 9 at% without precipitation or secondary phase, confirmed by electron spin resonance (ESR) and synchrotron X-ray diffraction (XRD). Room-temperature ferromagnetism is observed in the as-prepared nanoparticles. However, the room-temperature ferromagnetism disappears after ...
متن کاملParticle size distribution measurements of manganese-doped ZnS nanoparticles.
We performed particle size and particle size distribution measurements for L-cysteine-stabilized ZnS/Mn nanoparticles in the size region below 10 nm. For this we applied transmission electron microscopy (TEM), analytical ultracentrifugation (AUC), dynamic light scattering (DLS), and asymmetric flow field flow fractionation (aF-FFF) measurements, and we calculated particle sizes with the help of...
متن کاملGreen synthesis and potential application of low-toxic Mn : ZnSe/ZnS core/shell luminescent nanocrystals.
A microwave-assisted synthetic procedure is presented for the preparation of low-toxic Mn:ZnSe/ZnS core/shell nanocrystals to label antibodies for selective detection of human immunoglobulin G (IgG) based on fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) between the Mn:ZnSe/ZnS and Au nanoparticles (AuNPs).
